D. A. E. Originals17" Monty Male Fashion Doll
"Le Bal"
Limited Edition #31 of 50
for Modern Doll Collectors Convention 2007
Near Mint in Box
“Le Bal” Monty Dressed Doll. Monty is all vinyl, anatomically correct, and jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips. This doll is mint and complete except he seems to have had a manufacturing flaw that caused one leg to be shorter than the other. I undressed him to see if I could do anything about it, but it it isn’t bent or strung incorrectly, it’s just...short. Maybe padding in that shoe would help.
He was created by D.A.E. Originals, a two man operation launched in 1994 by David Escobedo and Brian Sc
hafer. They originally began making OOAK fashions for Gene and then began their own line of 16 inch fashion dolls. The first Vivian the Miniquin dolls were made in 2002 with a strung resin body and rooted hair vinyl head. There was a basic doll for the 1940’s, 50s and 60s with appropriate hairstyles for each, and 12 fashions, all beautifully accessorized. Then in 2005 an all vinyl Vivian doll was created as part of the “Jet Set Romance” collection with 15 separate outfits. They also introduced her escort, Monty, that year.
Monty stands at 17 inches. Each doll has his own look using a fourteen layer face paint process, body blushing, rooted heads and era correct coiffures. The LE identification number is hand written on all dolls lower right rear.
His description from the company web site read: "
Every Woman loves a sharp dressed man and Monty fits that detail in Le Bal (The Ball). Our latest edition Monty is a first time golden boy blond with hazel eyes. Monty wears a modern day tuxedo with an old world charm. Jacket and vest are made of gold and black brocade with satin lapels and pockets. Jacket has a touch of luxury with its faux fur collar and real working buttons. Pants are of wool gabardine with satin piping and turn up cuffs. Tuxedo shirt is made of fine shadow striped cotton lawn and has French cuffs, ruffled placket and stand up 17th century collar. To give a finally polished appeal Monty wears cuff links, shirt studs in jet stones, golden neck pendant, double bow tie in salmon pink taffeta and polished black faux leather shoes. Doll comes complete with stand, certificate and box."

If you have questions, please ask me. The doll will be shipped in the original box inside the rather flimsy shipper inside another cardboard box and wrapped well inside in tissue and bubble wrap. The box weighs 1 lb 14 oz and is 20 x 10 x 6 inches. The winner pays actual shipping with insurance included. All my items are from a non-smoking but cat-friendly environment. Thanks for looking!
I offer a choice of shipping options so please look to see what works best for you. I pack very well but unfortunately I have had a few things I shipped or received lately arrive flattened like a truck ran over them. No amount of packing would have helped. If anything is damaged I will handle the return and insurance claim but the buyer MUST send me photos of the damaged item AND the packaging as it arrived. When I have those and the doll is back to me you will get a refund from ebay. International buyers may be offered Ebay Global Shipping and must use it if so. I have tried using alternate shipping and the lack of tracking and insurance makes it untenable. Please note that returns are not automatically accepted but I will consider return requests if you contact me. The item must be in the same condition as when it arrived, still not removed from the box if it was originally NRFB, not damaged in any way, or missing anything, and the buyer pays the return shipping.

OOPs I forgot to update the shipping information in the description. The box is 20" by 8" by 8" and weighs just over 4 pounds. The information in the shipping calculator is correct. Please look at the shipping options to see what will work best for you.
